Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) in our Indianapolis-area plant. The role focuses on preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of production equipment in a plant-based facility.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, read schematics, and collaborate with contractors to ensure reliable operation while adhering to OSHA, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, wiring, and control circuits.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, bearings, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose electrical issues involving industrial equipment, control circuits, sensors, and associated components.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.
• Support facility utility systems, including boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment equipment, coordinating with specialized contractors as needed.
• Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
• Complete maintenance work orders, parts requests, and documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to off-shift emergencies or overtime needs as required.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and outside contractors to improve equipment reliability.
• Follow OSHA, HACCP, SQF, GMP, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety standards.
