Job summary

Owens Corning Fort Smith, AR, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant. You will oversee planning, scheduling, and coaching the maintenance team, improve asset reliability, and drive PM/TPM initiatives to support plant goals.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, CMMS (SAP preferred), and excellent communication and organizational skills. You will collaborate across departments to minimize downtime and control costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of industrial maintenance leadership experience.
• Engineering or Maintenance Technology degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance experience.
• Maintenance/planner experience preferred.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude; electrical experience preferred.
• Familiar with CMMS; SAP preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Creativity and problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Willing and able to train others.
• Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter, motivated and goal oriented.
• Computer literate—MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Live and adhere to the Safety Culture of Zero Accidents and prioritize plant safety in planning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Storeroom, MEs, Maintenance Technicians, and plant personnel.
• Support TPM and PM pillars, with focus on red tags.
• Review maintenance work for accuracy and completion.
• Coach team to grow and develop skills.
• Maintain costs within budget and assist in annual budgeting.
• Coordinate scheduling and planning of plant maintenance work.
• Utilize downtime efficiently and avoid aging work orders.
• Accountable for labor utilization, backlog, and schedule KPIs.
• Lead Daily Approval Meetings and participate in related meetings.
• Plan extended shutdowns with cross‑department coordination.
• Use and update blueprints, drawings, manuals, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with plant rules; train personnel as needed.
• Provide detailed scope of work with estimates for planned tasks.
• Familiar with precision maintenance tools in work plans.
• Help determine root causes and implement permanent fixes.
• Update equipment files and BOMs when outdated.
• Coordinate with Storeroom for materials availability and kitting.
• Work overtime as needed to support down days and backlogs.
• Hold maintenance techs accountable for 5S and KPI/LPA.
