Job summary

Corning Inc. in Painted Post, NY is seeking a Maintenance Department Head to lead the maintenance function for the site.

You will ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of production equipment, facilities, and backup systems while guiding a diverse team of supervisors and technicians. You will develop preventive/predictive maintenance programs, perform root-cause analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field preferred.
• 7+ years manufacturing/industrial experience, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
• Proven leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with OSHA regs and safety requirements in manufacturing.
• Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant maintenance operations with strategic direction and daily oversight.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and company standards are met; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop and sustain preventive/predictive maintenance programs and RCA actions.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, utilities, and emergency backup systems for continuous operations.
• Prioritize work based on production needs; monitor uptime, downtime, and costs.
• Manage maintenance budgets, including labor, parts, contractors, and capex.
