Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of 30–50 hourly maintenance technicians in a fast-paced plant environment in Hickory, NC.

The role focuses on safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance operations with clear growth pathways into Facilities, Engineering, and more. The ideal candidate has a technical degree or 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong Excel/Word skills, and 2–3 years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field or 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Computer skills (Excel – basic formulas and Word)

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach a team of maintenance technicians and coordinators — setting clear performance expectations, building accountability, and recognizing high achievement.
• Oversee repair and maintenance of plant manufacturing equipment, including break‑fix, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and spares management.
• Champion a safe work culture — model safe practices, ensure team compliance, and proactively identify and address unsafe conditions.
• Manage staffing allocation to align with production shift support requirements.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to meet objectives across quality, operating expenses, inventory, equipment uptime, and on‑time shipment.
