Job summary

Biewer Sawmill Newton is seeking a hands-on Maintenance leader to Direct all mechanical and electrical maintenance across our manufacturing site. You will drive predictive and preventive maintenance, manage MRO purchases, and focus on uptime and safety.

This role requires mentoring a team, strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and collaboration with upper management on capital projects. Monday–Friday with weekend work in a safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 4 years’ equivalent experience in industrial maintenance or wood products.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance across the manufacturing site.
• Oversee predictive and preventive maintenance and MRO purchases with uptime focus.
• Plan and schedule maintenance workflow with planning coordination.
• Ensure safety standards and training for maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with upper management on capital projects and paperwork.
