Job summary

LP Building Solutions is seeking a maintenance-focused leader to ensure mill mechanical equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will coordinate maintenance activities, direct staff, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on leadership in an OSB manufacturing environment, with emphasis on safe practices, effective communication, and adherence to procedures during planned outages and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience; OSB, lumber, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical lead, senior mechanic, or similar leadership role preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, mechanic, industrial maintenance, welding, or related training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, identify root causes, and coordinate repairs safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, drawings, procedures, work orders, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical maintenance activities for mill equipment and facilities.
• Direct assigned personnel and work with operations and other departments.
• Coordinate parts and material needs; work with storeroom to ensure availability.
• Fill in for Maintenance Lead or Supervisor as required.
• Direct and support mechanical shift personnel to maintain equipment and work areas.
• Participate in planned shutdowns, outages, and emergency repairs.
• Promote safe work practices, quality workmanship, and timely completion of maintenance.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
