Job summary

Jefferson Parish Government seeks skilled electrical workers to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment at treatment plants and lift stations across East and West Jefferson. Candidates must hold Jefferson Parish Electrical license (Class C or higher) or a Louisiana statewide Electrical Work license, with extensive high-voltage, electro-mechanical, and PLC experience.

Some roles may require a Class D vehicle license and readiness for emergency duties.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Class C or higher Jefferson Parish Electrical license*
• Possession of a current Electrical Work (Statewide) license* issued by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC)
• Nine months of full-time, verifiable, paid work experience in repair and maintenance of high voltage electrical apparatus (480-4160 volts) and industrial/plant equipment, including electro-mechanical and PLCs

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment malfunctions and determine repair or replacement needs.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as checking voltage and amperage levels and inspecting wiring in control panels and boards.
• Work on treatment plant and lift station electrical systems and related equipment; ensure compliance with safety standards; may be required for emergency duty status.
