Job summary

JM Eagle in Batchelor, LA is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems at the plant. You will perform tasks from installation to testing, ensuring safety and compliance with codes and standards.

The role requires reading diagrams, working with conveyors and motors, and coordinating with the maintenance supervisor on projects and schedules. On-site work with potential equipment operation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical schematics, PLC Logic, DC motors/drives, AC motors/inverters.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Must successfully complete an electrical field test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain work area to THM standards.
• Supervise projects in accordance with supervisor's instruction and schedule.
• Install, operate, and troubleshoot AC/DC equipment and control circuits.
• Create and analyze wiring diagrams and perform electrical installations from prints.
• Start, stop, maintain, and repair plant equipment.
• Install and repair electrical conduit and cables, including connections and grounding.
• Oversee dismantling and assembly of electrical motors and related equipment.
• Operate mobile/hoisting equipment for E&R work.
• Perform voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter and other electrical tests.
• Work knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power requirements.
• Adhere to Underwriter's codes and safety requirements; use electrical switchboards.
• Ensure tools and instruments are used safely and properly.
