Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our North American operations, based in Nedrow, NY. You will maintain and repair plant machinery, inspect systems, and implement improvements to equipment reliability.

The role requires reading technical drawings, using hand and power tools, and working safely in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be able to work independently and within a team, on-site at multiple facilities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated capability in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
  • Install, align, and maintain mechanical systems including conveyors, crushers, and rotating equipment.
  • Collaborate with team to complete maintenance activities efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Conduct inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and longevity
  • Install, align, and maintain mechanical systems, including conveyors, crushers, and rotating equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to complete planned and unplanned maintenance activities efficiently
  • Follow safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety-first culture

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
