Job summary

Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (ITW) is seeking an IT Lead for its Decatur, AL facility, located about 30 minutes southwest of Huntsville. You will oversee on-site IT operations and end-user support for a manufacturing plant, ensuring reliable operation of devices and plant-floor technology.

The role requires strong troubleshooting and collaboration with regional teams to minimize downtime, while supporting security, access, and endpoint management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of IT support and systems administration in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting Windows endpoints, laptops, mobile devices, and user productivity systems.
• Experience troubleshooting networking issues including Wi‑Fi, switching, VPN and connectivity.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site IT contact for the manufacturing plant.
• Provide day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and access issues for plant and office personnel.
• Manage incident resolution and service requests in the IT ticketing platform.
• Prioritize issues impacting production with a sense of urgency.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding and equipment lifecycle management.
• Support plant floor technology and end-user devices and collaborate with regional teams.
• Maintain endpoint management, patching and security controls.
