Responsibilities

• Lead triage, containment, and resolution planning for issues in assembly and end-of-line testing.
• Define short-term containment actions, rework plans, and part quarantine.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to conduct root cause analysis across design, process, supplier, and manufacturing domains.
• Support prototype builds, production trials, and engineering changes to validate fixes.
• Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor issue health, closures, and recurrence.

Job Title: Plant Issue Resolution Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $77/hour + Benefits

Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle manufacturing, is seeking a Plant Issue Resolution Engineer to join their team. As a Plant Issue Resolution Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Department supporting Vehicle Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Lead triage, containment, and resolution planning of issues identified during general assembly and end-of-line testing across various vehicle systems.
• Define and execute short-term containment actions, including rework plans, part quarantine, and build flow protection.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to conduct root cause analysis across design, process, supplier, and manufacturing domains, and drive improvements.
• Support prototype builds, production trials, and engineering changes to validate fixes and enhance manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting to monitor issue health, closure rates, and recurrence, improving processes.

What's Needed?

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or complex hardware systems within manufacturing or product engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems such as door systems, latches, actuators, sealing, access panels, glazing, and body structures.
• Proven experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions in production or field environments, including new product launch support.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
