Job summary

Stanley Executive Search, Inc is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead onsite HR at a manufacturing facility. You will own recruiting, employee relations, and daily HR administration, collaborating with production staff, supervisors, and site leadership.

This hands-on role blends strategy with practical execution. You will drive hiring for hourly and skilled roles, build sourcing channels, and ensure compliant onboarding.

Qualifications

• 8+ years HR experience, including manufacturing/plant environment.
• Hands-on experience with high-volume hourly recruiting.
• Experience leading HR initiatives on-site across shifts.
• Knowledge of FLSA, OSHA, workers' comp, FMLA/ADA.

Responsibilities

• Own hiring for the plant, from hourly production roles to salaried staff.
• Build sourcing channels (staffing agencies, trade schools, local partnerships) to keep pipeline full.
• Manage onboarding and new hire compliance (I-9, orientation).
• Be the go-to person for workplace issues across all shifts — conflicts, investigations, discipline.
• Coach frontline supervisors on performance management and discipline; advise Plant Manager on people matters.
• Handle leave management, workers' comp, benefits support, and HRIS data; ensure regulatory compliance.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced HR Director to be the senior HR leader onsite at our manufacturing facility. You'll own recruiting, employee relations, and day-to-day HR administration for the plant — working closely with production staff, supervisors, and site leadership. This is a hands-on role: part strategist, part doer.

About the Role

• Own hiring for the plant, from hourly production roles to skilled trades and salaried staff
• Build sourcing channels (staffing agencies, trade schools, local partnerships) to keep the pipeline full
• Manage onboarding and new hire compliance (I-9, orientation)

Employee Relations

• Be the go-to person for workplace issues across all shifts — conflicts, investigations, discipline
• Build trust with shift supervisors to catch morale/turnover issues early
• Run engagement efforts (shift meetings, recognition, surveys) for a diverse hourly workforce

HR Administration

• Handle leave management, workers' comp, benefits support, and HRIS data
• Keep the site compliant with FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, and other employment regulations
• Maintain policies, handbook, and job descriptions relevant to plant operations

Leadership

• Advise the Plant Manager/GM on people matters
• Coach frontline supervisors on performance management and discipline
• Liaise with corporate HR/Legal to keep site practices aligned

Must-haves:

• 8+ years HR experience, including several years leading HR in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment
• Real experience with high-volume hourly recruiting
• Hands-on employee relations/investigation experience in a shift-based workforce
• Working knowledge of FLSA, OSHA, workers' comp, FMLA/ADA
• Comfortable being onsite full-time, including time on the production floor

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience as the sole HR leader at a single site
