Job summary

O-I in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist to manage payroll, HR support, recruiting and benefits in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This onsite role partners with plant leadership to drive employee engagement, performance, and development.

Ideal candidates will have payroll experience in manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with HR processes. The position reports to the Plant HR Manager and offers a competitive salary with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Background in HR processes, benefits, and employee development.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and support hourly payroll activities with high accuracy.
• Serve as HR resource for employees and leaders across the plant.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.
• Administer benefits programs and answer employee questions.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation per policy.
• Coordinate employee engagement programs and plant communications.
• Assist with performance management, training, and talent development.
• Support labor relations efforts in unionized environments when applicable.
• Partner with plant leadership to address workforce needs and improve the employee experience.
• Maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
