Job summary

Mertz – Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function at our Ponca City, OK manufacturing facility. You will be the senior onsite HR resource, guiding leadership on workforce and employee matters.

You will manage the HR team, drive employee relations, talent acquisition support, onboarding, performance management, and engagement initiatives while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies. This is a hands-on leadership role across all shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience leading HR staff and managing a team.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliance.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite HR operations and supervise the onsite HR team.
• Coach and develop HR staff and drive succession planning.
• Collaborate with leadership on employee relations, policy interpretation, and investigations.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning for hourly and salaried roles.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local laws and maintain records.
• Oversee leave administration and relations with benefits team.
• Drive performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
• Analyze HR metrics and implement process improvements.
• Escalate risks to the HR Business Partner as needed.
