Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for our Lancaster, SC plant. You will lead and develop HR staff and programs focused on culture, hiring, retention, safety and alignment with production and financial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Human Resources.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing and LEAN Manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
• Motivated team player with a can-do attitude.
• PHR or SPHR designations highly desired.
• Experience supporting HR operations with non-exempt employees in union/non-union environments; proactive union avoidance and retention programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer HR plans for plant personnel including talent management, culture, hiring, and retention.
• Plan, organize and control all HR Department activities.
• Contribute to departmental goals and systems.
• Update compensation program; work with corporate compensation; manage merit pool and budget.
• Recommend and implement personnel policies; manage benefits enrollment.
• Assist Safety Manager with workers’ comp, change reporting, invoices, policies.
• Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1 annually; maintain records.
• Work with HR Director to determine staffing needs; coordinate recruitment; interview candidates.
• Ensure HR approvals and compensation within guidelines.
• Establish HR strategic plan supporting annual objectives.
• Recommend improvements within the department.
• Facilitate and measure quality of people management.
• Work with urgency and embody corporate values.
