Job summary

Crucial Hire in Carthage, MO, is seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to modernize HR on the manufacturing floor, rebuilding hiring, onboarding, training, and retention while aligning HR with operations.

The role reports to the Director of Human Resources, with site HR Business Generalists reporting to this position. It supports 300+ employees across all shifts and requires a hands-on change agent who can balance compliance with practical impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in HR, business, or management.
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• 7+ years in HR disciplines with 4+ years in management, ideally in manufacturing.
• Experience leading HR staff and partnering with Talent Acquisition/HRIS/Compliance.
• Working knowledge of plant-floor employment law; ability to influence without authority.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Plant Manager's partner on workforce planning and people-related decisions.
• Diagnose issues, build a case for new approaches, and drive adoption.
• Lead and develop the site HR Business Generalists.
• Partner with HR managers at other sites for consistency.
• Own site staffing, headcount, and staffing plans; collaborate with Corporate Talent Acquisition.
• Coach supervisors, investigate disciplinary matters, and manage daily floor presence across shifts.
• Oversee benefits, leave administration, FMLA, ADA, and workers compensation.
• Ensure EEOC, FMLA, HIPAA compliance; wage-hour and recordkeeping; and reporting.
• Coordinate safety training, safety compliance, and injury reporting.
• Develop supervisor talent and build a bench of hourly leads ready to step up.
• Report headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and overtime with actionable recommendations.
