Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for its Ankeny, Iowa operations. The role partners with leadership and employees to foster a positive workplace culture, support engagement initiatives, and provide guidance on HR matters across the business.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of HR experience, with specific experience supporting a unionized workforce in manufacturing or warehouse settings. The salary range is $80,000–$95,000 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Prior experience supporting a unionized workforce is required.
• Experience within manufacturing, food manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environments is required.
• Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with full-cycle recruiting and onboarding.
• Ability to influence and build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with supervisors and managers to address employee relations concerns and promote a positive work environment.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to leadership on employee relations issues, policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Support a unionized workforce and assist with labor relations matters in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Drive employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Conduct employee investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Assist with performance management processes and employee development programs.
• Support policy interpretation, compliance, and HR-related training initiatives.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Collaborate with site leadership to support organizational goals and workforce planning efforts.
