Job summary

Clayton Manufacturing in Waycross, GA, seeks a General Manager to lead plant operations across production, distribution, safety, quality, and cost. The role requires strategic leadership to drive productivity and financial excellence.

You will develop staff leaders, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and ensure goals are met while maintaining a safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation. A strong background in P&L and manufacturing leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 4+ years of production management experience preferred, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing management role.
• Prior P&L and commercial responsibility required.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and discretionary skills.
• Solid understanding of construction trades and quality practices, codes, regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop staff leaders to guide plants and support organizations.
• Collaborate with customers, functional leaders and internal staff to meet requirements.
• Set and attain plant goals in quality, cost, schedule, compliance and safety.
• Establish and maintain the plant vision for success.
• Lead strategic decision-making and problem-solving within the leadership team.
• Drive production, distribution, safety, quality, performance and profitability of operations.
• Coordinate planning with department managers to hit manufacturing objectives cost-effectively.
• Monitor overall performance for production and quality standards.
