Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a General Manager to lead a facility with responsibility for day-to-day operations, safety, quality, and productivity. You will own P&L, budgets, and strategic initiatives to drive financial and operational excellence.

The role requires extensive leadership experience in food production or manufacturing, strong decision-making, and capacity to drive continuous improvement while upholding Sysco quality programs and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Agriculture preferred; minimum 10 years of operational leadership experience.
• Minimum 10 years plant leadership in food production, manufacturing, costing, and distribution.
• Lean Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and Outlook.
• Experience and understanding of ERP systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility leadership and general management.
• Own P&L and manage budgets to meet financial goals.
• Develop processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Recruit, hire, and develop associates with performance documentation.
• Set department activities to meet KPIs and customer satisfaction.
• Write and update SOPs to standardize operations.
• Lead Gemba walks and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze operations and drive improvements.
• Ensure DOT regulations in transportation.
• Develop key metrics to drive daily, weekly, monthly results.
• Serve as facility spokesperson for inquiries.
• Support business development through market activities.
• Maintain high quality and safety standards per Sysco programs.
