Job summary

Motus Integrated Technologies is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to drive improvements across our Michigan plant floor. You will partner with operations, quality, engineering, maintenance, and materials to implement Lean initiatives and standardized processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, quality, or continuous improvement environment.
• Hands‑on experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to use data to identify problems, determine root causes, and measure results.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both hourly and salaried team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
• Spend time on the manufacturing floor observing processes, identifying waste, understanding root causes, and engaging team members in improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate Kaizen events, rapid improvement activities, and structured problem‑solving efforts.
• Apply Lean and continuous improvement tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, and PDCA.
• Analyze operational data and plant performance metrics to identify trends, losses, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support initiatives focused on OEE, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, throughput, changeover time, and cost reduction.
• Coordinate CI projects from opportunity identification through implementation, including timelines, action items, results, and follow‑up.
• Work with supervisors and team members to develop, implement, and sustain standardized processes and improvements.
• Develop and maintain visual management tools, dashboards, and performance metrics that make plant performance easy to understand and act upon.
• Help train and coach team members on Lean principles, problem‑solving techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
• Encourage employee participation by helping create an environment where team members are comfortable identifying problems and suggesting solutions.
• Track and communicate the impact of improvement initiatives, including operational and financial results.
• Support new process, equipment, layout, and manufacturing method implementations.
• Help ensure improvements are sustained through follow‑up, audits, standard work, and accountability.
• Serve as a change agent and resource to the plant, helping teams move from identifying problems to implementing practical solutions.
