Job summary

Motus in Holland, MI is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our plant team. You will drive meaningful improvements across manufacturing operations, on the plant floor with cross-functional partners, turning ideas into measurable results.

You’ll lead Kaizen events, apply Lean tools, analyze data, and coach teams to sustain standardized processes. This hands-on role emphasizes collaboration and problem-solving for cost reduction and productivity gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, quality, or continuous improvement environment.
• Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use data to identify problems, determine root causes, and measure results.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both hourly and salaried team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize opportunities that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
• Observe processes on the manufacturing floor to identify waste and root causes.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and structured problem-solving efforts.
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, and PDCA.
• Analyze operational data and plant performance metrics to identify trends and bottlenecks.
• Support initiatives on OEE, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Coordinate CI projects from opportunity identification through implementation and follow-up.
• Develop and sustain standardized processes and improvements with supervisors and teams.
• Create visual management tools and dashboards to monitor performance.
