Job summary

NRG Energy's Plant Business Manager will oversee budgeting, financial accounting, and reporting for the Parish Plant, with responsibility for payroll, inventory, and office operations. Onsite Monday through Friday, you will collaborate with owners, management, and vendors to drive cost control and efficient plant performance.

You will lead the payroll team of five, coordinate month-end close in GAAP, and manage vendor pricing and RFQs using SAP/JDE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and 4 years related experience.
• Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and 6 years relevant experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for facilities management and purchasing of office supplies and equipment.
• Maintain GAAP accounting records and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accruals and closing.
• Manage the plant payroll team of 5 individuals.
• Prepare financial reports and analyze costs, budgets, trends, and earnings.
• Provide ad hoc and routine reporting to Owner and internal requirements.
• Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, and earnings.
• Vendor relationship management including RFQ processes and SAP-based work/purchase orders.
• Inventory management and safeguarding of inventory.
• Learn and use company software and system processes for reporting.
