Job summary

NRG Energy's Plant Business Manager role sits at the intersection of finance and operations, overseeing budgeting, accounting, payroll, vendor management and reporting for the WA Parish Coal Plant. The position requires GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and SAP skills, and the ability to work onsite Monday through Friday.

You will collaborate with procurement, supply chain and site personnel to ensure accurate financials, timely closes and robust controls, while supporting safety and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 4+ years of related business experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and financial accounting analysis, investigation, and reporting.
• Support procurement and accounts payable processes.
• Interface with vendors and contractors.
• Manage the plant payroll team of 5 individuals.
• Prepare journal entries and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accruals and closing requirements.
• Provide ad hoc and routine reporting to Owners and internal requirements.
