Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Plant Business Manager to lead budgeting, financial accounting and office operations at the WA Parish Coal Plant. The role involves SAP-based work orders, vendor coordination, payroll oversight and monthly close, with on-site presence Monday through Friday.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze costs against budgets, and provide actionable financial insights to drive plant performance and compliance in a safe, efficient environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent plus relevant experience.
• GAAP accounting and month-end closing knowledge expected.
• Strong communication and vendor management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management including procurement and office operations.
• Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting records and prepare monthly/quarterly reports.
• Manage payroll team and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with vendors, obtain quotes, and manage RFQ processes and contracts.
• Provide regular reporting to Owner and internal stakeholders.
