Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Plant Business Manager to lead budgeting, financial accounting analysis, and reporting for our WA Parish Coal Plant. The role supports procurement/payables, inventories, and office administration, with on-site work Monday through Friday.

The position requires GAAP proficiency, solid vendor management, and the ability to supervise a payroll team while coordinating with Owner and internal stakeholders to deliver timely financial insights and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and 4 years related experience, or
• Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and 6 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management and purchasing of office supplies and equipment
• Maintain GAAP accounting records and coordinate month-end/quarter-end/year-end close
• Manage a payroll team of 5 personnel
• Prepare financial reports and business analyses for Owner and internal use
• Vendor relationship management including RFQ process and SAP-based work/purchase orders
