Job summary

Plastic Technology Inc is seeking an experienced Business Unit Controller to lead finance for our Hickory, NC plant. You will drive monthly closes, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with operations to improve profitability and working capital.

The role reports to the Parent Finance team and collaborates on budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated reporting. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing finance, strong cost accounting skills, and ERP experience with JD Edwards or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting deadlines.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and inventory valuation.
• ERP experience with JD Edwards or SAP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for the subsidiary and prepare management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, cash, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Coordinate year-end audit and tax with external partners.
• Manage treasury, working capital, and cash forecasting.
• Develop cost accounting metrics and analyze variances to improve margins.
• Partner with Plant Manager and corporate to translate operations into financial impact.
