Job summary

Leggett & Platt in Beulaville, NC or Wilmington, NC seeks a Plant Controller – Manufacturing Finance to own the manufacturing cost model and partner with operations to improve costing accuracy and profitability.

This role leads governance of BOMs, routings, labor standards, machine rates, and overhead, and supports financial reporting and month-end close. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement and data-driven decision making across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing finance; actual costing experience preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, routings, labor standards, and ERP master data.
• Advanced analytical and Excel skills; ability to partner with Operations and Engineering to solve business problems.
• Excellent communication skills with cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s manufacturing cost model.
• Ensure BOMs, routings, labor standards, work centers, machine rates, overhead rates, and standard costs reflect manufacturing operations.
• Lead standard cost development, annual cost rolls, and cost maintenance.
• Establish governance to reflect engineering and manufacturing changes within the ERP system.
• Perform routine audits of manufacturing master data and drive corrective actions.
• Develop processes to improve long-term cost accuracy and sustainability.
