Job summary

SunOpta is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Plant Management Team and Eden Prairie HQ Finance with day-to-day financial analysis and reporting. This role focuses on tracking actual performance to budget, identifying variances, and maintaining internal controls.

The position requires a strong analytical mindset and collaboration with multiple teams to drive cost reduction. The analyst will contribute to journal entries, inventory and CAPEX processes, and monthly close, while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Finance, Operations, Cost Accounting experience preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly analysis of actual costs versus target.
• Identify root causes of variances and lead or participate in mitigation efforts.
• Develop and improve analysis and reporting to support plant leadership in managing cost performance to goal.
• Partner with plant team members to identify, implement and measure cost reduction projects.
• Close manufacturing batches with Operations and Logistics to ensure accurate recording.
• Analyze data for weekly KPI reporting and provide insights to Plant Manager.
