Job summary

Assemblix is seeking an experienced Plant Facility Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement at our Plainfield manufacturing facility. You will ensure building and production systems operate safely and efficiently while leading facility projects.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership, strong project management, and a mechanical aptitude with manufacturing or distribution experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing, facilities management, maintenance, or plant operations.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience managing facility improvement or capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, maintenance practices, and production processes.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of the facility, production equipment, and building systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage capital improvement and facility projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and timelines while ensuring projects stay on track.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, equipment manufacturers, and internal departments to complete installations and upgrades.
  • Perform equipment evaluations and recommend improvements to increase production capacity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Assist with design, installation, testing, startup, and commissioning of new production equipment.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare funding requests while maintaining budget accountability.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Communicate project status and timelines with management and plant personnel.
  • Train and support employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and facility processes.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Assemblix is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Plant Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Plainfield manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring our building, equipment, and production systems operate safely and efficiently while leading facility improvement projects that support business growth.

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with strong project management skills, a mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of the facility, production equipment, and building systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage capital improvement and facility projects from concept through completion.

  • Experience working with outside contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, dust, and noise.
  • Frequently stand and walk throughout the facility.
  • Occasionally bend, reach, push, pull, and lift materials as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
