Job summary

PICA Product Development is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance, safety, and day-to-day operations across two locations. You will lead preventive maintenance, coordinate external contractors, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement and a safe, productive work environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a manufacturing

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience.
  • Knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and safety standards.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to read manuals and blueprints and manage maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and appearance of two facilities.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for systems and grounds.
  • Manage vendor quotes, contracts, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure OSHA and local code compliance and safety policies.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and facility improvement projects.
  • Support office expansions, renovations, and space reconfigurations.
  • Maintain maintenance records and facility-related reports.

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and day‑to‑day operations of our two company locations. This position is responsible for ensuring both facilities are well‑maintained, compliant, and operating efficiently while coordinating maintenance activities, vendor relationships, and facility improvement projects. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills who enjoys a balance of hands‑on maintenance work and facility management responsibilities. This individual will identify opportunities for continuous improvement, prioritize facility needs, and ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and appearance of two company facilities.
  • Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Complete general building maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other handyman‑related work within skill level.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, and facility projects.
  • Manage facility‑related budgets, obtain vendor quotes, and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and proactively identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Develop and prioritize maintenance schedules and facility improvement projects.
  • Support office expansions, renovations, furniture installations, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Oversee building security systems, access control, lighting, HVAC, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, landscaping, parking lot maintenance, and exterior upkeep.
  • Respond promptly to facility‑related requests and emergency maintenance issues.
  • Maintain maintenance records, vendor documentation, and facility‑related reports.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of facilities, maintenance, building operations, or construction experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and safety documentation is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA safety training or related certifications.
  • Trade school education or technical certifications.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience managing facility improvement or capital projects.
