Facility Manager - Fort Worth Alliance, TX

Position Summary

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations within a manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the plants infrastructure, equipment, and utilities. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, compliant, and productive environment that supports continuous manufacturing operations. Will manages maintenance teams, oversees vendor contracts, ensures compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, and leads facility improvement projects that enhance operational performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance and facility staff.
  • Assign daily work schedules and monitor task completion.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Facility & Equipment Operations
  • Manage daily operations of the plants buildings, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure all systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, water, etc.) function safely and efficiently.
  • Support production by ensuring facility-related equipment and systems have minimal downtime.
  • Oversee construction, upgrades, and facility modifications to meet production needs.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Develop and manage a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all facility systems and production- related equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Maintain maintenance records and ensure CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) accuracy.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
  • Implement fire safety, emergency evacuation, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Collaborate with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) to improve safety culture and practices.
Vendor and Contractor Management
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts for facility services (HVAC, janitorial, landscaping, waste disposal, etc.).
  • Ensure contractors follow safety protocols and deliver services per agreement.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring cost control and compliance with terms.
Energy & Sustainability
  • Monitor utility usage and implement energy-saving programs.
  • Recommend upgrades to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Manage recycling and environmental sustainability initiatives in alignment with company goals.
Budget & Financial Oversight
  • Prepare and manage the annual facilities operations and maintenance budget.
  • Track spending, forecast costs, and identify savings opportunities.
  • Present performance and budget reports to senior management.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and motivate maintenance and facilities staff to achieve high performance.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate training on equipment operation, safety, and preventive maintenance.
  • Utilize CMMS or other systems to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and asset life cycles.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Oversee calibration and upkeep of facility-related equipment.
Education & Experience
  • Required: Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Masters degree in business or engineering management preferred.
  • Experience: 58 years of facilities management or plant operations experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, etc.).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other manufacturing safety standards.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS platforms.
  • Excellent budgeting, project management, and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) IFMA, Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification, and LEED or Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Responsible for reducing equipment downtime and maintenance response times.
  • Compliance with OSHA and environmental standards.
  • Cost savings from preventive maintenance and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Employee safety record and facility audit performance.
  • On-time completion of capital improvement and maintenance projects.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Moderate to high noise levels; use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance or emergency response.
