Job summary

BD is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager in USA SC - Sumter to lead site engineering (Automation, Process Engineering) and embed BD Excellence as the operating system. You will drive world-class SQDC performance, develop high-performing teams, and deploy asset care and automation roadmaps to improve uptime and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include strategy deployment, zero-loss CI leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and EHS to sustain BD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related).
• 7–10+ years of engineering/manufacturing experience.
• 3–5+ years leadership experience managing managers or technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement.
• Reliability / Asset Care systems and manufacturing processes.
• Preferred: Six Sigma certification and experience with BD Excellence or similar Lean operating system.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering input into Strategy Deployment and site master plan.
• Cascade KPIs aligned to SQDC priorities across engineering teams.
• Align engineering roadmap to BD Excellence roadmap and maturity expectations.
• Drive Zero Loss and Continuous Improvement across engineering domains.
• Own engineering contribution to Cost-to-Win portfolio and deploy Lean tools.
• Collaborate with Asset Care, Reliability & Performance to drive uptime and maintenance excellence.
• Partner with BD Excellence to deploy Factory Blueprint standards and participate in focused improvement activities.
• Develop talent, coach leaders, and build a high-performing engineering organization.
• Provide cross-functional leadership with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS.
• Ensure adherence to BD Quality Systems, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
