Job summary

BD is seeking a Lead Operations Manufacturing Mechanic for an on-site role in Sumter, SC. You will operate, set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment while leading and training associates on the floor.

The role requires strong mechanical proficiency, PM discipline, and collaboration with engineers and technicians to improve equipment performance. This is an on-site manufacturing position within a large global medical technology company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s degree (Major: Advanced Mechatronics Technology) preferred
• Coursework in Schematics, Basic Mechanics, Industrial Electricity, Problem Solving, Intro to Industrial Tech is preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair departmental production equipment.
• Provide informal leadership and train technical associates on set-ups and repairs.
• Collaborate with engineering and automation technicians on projects.
• Maintain equipment logs and perform preventative maintenance.
• Audit PM procedures and ensure SAP records are complete.
• Support upstream and downstream operations.
