Imagine Your DayYou start your morning partnering with plant engineering, maintenance, and department colleagues to align on capital equipment installs, maintenance priorities, and troubleshooting plans. After a safety and project huddle, you head to the field to capture precise measurements in a chemical plant setting—sometimes donning PPE such as a respirator, fall arrest harness, gloves, chemical suit, and hearing protection. Confined-space entry or work at heights may occasionally be part of the assignment.Back at your workstation, you translate observations into production-ready drawings: layouts, P&ID's, process flow diagrams, piping, structural, electrical, fabrication, and installation packages. You generate print plots, copy prints, and clean PDFs. You run beam calculations, shape deck designs, and ensure your work reflects OSHA requirements for construction, ladders, railings, decks, piping, electrical, and ASME pressure vessels. In the afternoon, you review vendor equipment drawings, compile material lists, request quotes, submit purchase requisitions, and track materials through to delivery. You archive prints and lists so the plant can easily retrieve them later. When needed, you create flat patterns and part drawings to support maintenance and lend a hand to GTP with graphic art for SEA and plant initiatives. You work independently with limited supervision, stepping into any other tasks GTP deems important. What You Bring2-year CAD/Drafting degree or equivalent experience; 8–12 years in design/drafting with proven AutoCAD proficiencyAbility to work at a computer for 8 hours per dayCapability to take accurate measurements in a chemical plant environment; comfortable with occasional confined-space entry and working at heightsCore SkillsCAD SoftwareMechanical Design & EngineeringBlueprint ReadingTools & TechnologiesCAD Software (AutoCAD)BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, 401kTuition reimbursement24/7 Fitness CenterEqual Employment OpportunityWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class. In order to conform with U.S. government regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)3, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
