Job Summary

The Plant Engineer & Reliability Manager oversees maintenance and engineering at the brewery. This role provides technical leadership for equipment, reliability, capital projects, and continuous improvement. As part of the plant leadership team, the manager helps set strategic direction, manages multiple priorities, and collaborates with all departments to meet internal and external customer needs efficiently and cost-effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coach, develop, and mentor plant leadership and technical staff.
2. Optimize asset utilization through effective leadership.
3. Develop, maintain, and improve the preventative maintenance program.
4. Create and implement strategic plans for engineering and maintenance.
5. Provide technical solutions for operational problems, system optimization, and troubleshooting.
6. Ensure site compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
7. Drive results with urgency, creativity, and innovation.
8. Manage the site capital plan, budgets, projects, and execution.
9. Prepare comprehensive financial justifications for projects.
10. Prioritize and re-prioritize projects to support business needs.
11. Optimize utilization of the site CMMS.
12. Lead root cause analysis and ensure equipment reliability.
13. Develop and implement utility improvements and efficiencies.
14. Apply a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
15. Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and engineering firms.
16. Maintain neat and safe work areas.
17. Lead by example, demonstrating leadership and results-oriented management.
18. Collaborate with other managers and supervisors, aligning departmental needs with company goals.
19. Coordinate maintenance activities with operations and maintenance teams.
20. Manage the engineering and reliability budget, including cost control and approvals.
21. Cultivate a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within engineering and maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
2. At least 5 years of manufacturing experience, including management responsibilities.
3. Strong leadership skills for managing people and projects.
4. Experience in the Beverage or Food industry.
5. Proficiency with analytical tools and predictive/preventive maintenance techniques.
