Job summary

LU Service Corp. in Riverton, KS seeks a Plant Engineer to support daily plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects at a 300 MW facility. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within a complex power generation environment.

The candidate will develop technical expertise across plant systems, lead small capital projects, and contribute to long-term operational efficiency while coordinating with operators, technicians, and leadership.

Qualifications

ABET engineering degree preferred; technical and PM experience in industrial settings acceptable.
1–10 years of experience in engineering or plant operations.
Robust understanding of technical components within a power plant.

Responsibilities

Develop understanding of plant function and operation including systems and equipment.
Lead or support safety training programs as directed.
Support Operators and Technicians in operation and maintenance; weekend support.
Be available for 24/7 support of operations and maintenance.
Develop, implement, and manage projects under $50k; scope, bids, scheduling, and lifecycle management.
Support larger projects and outage planning; assist development of Capital Budget.
Manage 3–5 outage items with 2–4 day duration and crew coordination.
Develop basic skills in plant systems: DCS, MMS, CEMS, and related systems.
