Job summary

LU Service Corp. in Riverton, Kansas, is seeking a Plant Project Engineer to support a 300 MW daily cycling plant within the Southwest Power Pool.

You will provide hands-on engineering support across operations, maintenance, and capital projects, applying engineering principles to improve safety, reliability, and performance in a complex power generation environment. The role develops technical expertise across plant systems, leads small capital and outage projects, and contributes to long-term

Qualifications

Engineering degree from ABET-accredited university; technical and project management experience in industrial settings.
1–10 years of relevant power plant experience.
Strong understanding of technical components within a power plant.

Responsibilities

Support safety initiatives and participate in safety meetings.
Understand plant operation, maintenance processes, and system integration.
Assist in operator training and provide weekend/24/7 support as needed.
Develop and manage projects under $50,000 including scope, bids, and scheduling.
Assist larger projects and outage planning, including 3–5 outages with crews.
Support development of Capital Budget and outage items.
