Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support industrial automation across advanced manufacturing processes.

You will contribute to capital projects, develop control logic and HMI screens, and ensure safety standards and commissioning activities are met with cross‑functional teams. The role emphasizes PLC/HMI development, robotics, motion control, and IIoT initiatives, with heavy collaboration across manufacturing and maintenance.

Qualifications

• B.S. or A.S. in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics or related field.
• 3–5 years of controls engineering in industrial automation.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience with major platforms.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with safety standards and Industry 4.0 concepts.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA for manufacturing equipment.
• Support capital projects including laser cutting and robotic welding.
• Develop control logic, IO configs, and HMI screens per standards.
• Assist testing, FAT/SAT, commissioning at sites.
• Collaborate with suppliers and system integrators during build.
