The primary role of the Project Engineer is to provide facility and process troubleshooting, facility and process design and management, and support of project work related to the business. The Project Engineer will cover all aspects of process including manufacturing efficiency, plant and process safety, general manufacturing needs, and finished product quality. The Project Engineer will also assist with needs related to process safety and training, project design and implementation, regulatory and compliance assistance, and external technical support for the commercial group.
Job Description:
- Responsible for day-to-day and long-term process support and process optimization in all areas of the assigned facilities.
- Assist and manage active projects within Brenntag facilities, including project layout and scope, adherence to CAPEX budget, project planning and execution, and post audits of projects for ROI verification.
- Assist facility Operations in review of operating procedures and guidelines to verify standards are achieved consistently and modify as necessary.
- Conduct audits of manufacturing/blending/distribution processes as needed to ensure proper adherence to established Brenntag standards.
- Establish proficiency in the MaintainX Maintenance Management System to ensure proper facility information exists related to assets.
- Establish proficiency in BUS system and business support systems to serve as a support entity for Operations.
- Assume role as technical resource for outside sources (sales, customers, etc.) on an as needed basis.
- Complete project work when assigned.
- Assist with safety, compliance, and regulatory needs for all Brenntag facilities.
- Participate in outside customer audits and/or training.
- Participate in standard audits of Brenntag facilities (OSHA, NSF, DOT, etc.).
- Assist purchasing (IP) with procurement of equipment and materials and reduction of overall cost.
- Perform additional jobs as assigned.
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Must have a BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical preferred).
- Must have a minimum of 2 years relative experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to oversee and manage complex service and repair work of diverse types of electrical and plant equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and drawings.
- Operate a computer and various specified software programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must possess or qualify for a TWIC card.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screen.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
- Auto CAD and MS Vizio experience and proficiency is a plus.
