We are currently seeking an R&T Pilot Plant Engineer for our Decatur, AL, USA location. The key responsibilities include:

1. Managing pilot plant activities to support innovation projects.
2. Maintaining pilot facilities and ensuring safety and readiness for trials.
3. Supervising pilot plant technicians.
4. Developing preventative maintenance programs and troubleshooting.
5. Executing capital improvements.
6. Maintaining documentation for trials and equipment.
7. Assisting with R&T research projects, including trials at pilot and plant scale.
8. Supporting process development and product application development for new fibers.

Qualifications include:

1. BSc in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in industrial polymer processes. Experience with PAN, fiber spinning, and carbon fiber is preferred.
2. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and in R&D environments.
3. Willingness to operate machinery for upgrades, troubleshooting, and calibration.
4. Knowledge of safety procedures for industrial equipment.
5. Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities.
6. Leadership or coaching experience is desirable.
