Job summary

MATIV seeks a strategic Safety Leader at the Minneapolis plant to drive targeted safety objectives and continuous improvement in training, engagement, and system quality. You will analyze incidents, lead risk-reduction efforts, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, MPCA, and EPA requirements.

You will coordinate safety programs, develop workforce skills, and manage safety teams while reporting to site leadership. Competitive salary and short-term incentive eligibility are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Safety Science, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Safety and Training with emphasis in strategy.
• Professional knowledge of Federal, State, County and City standards for a manufacturing environment.
• Certifications preferred (CSP, CIH, ASP, CHMM).
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to visualize and strategize to achieve continuous and intentional risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes incident, hazard and near-miss trends and leads safety strategy with operations leadership and engineering.
• Develops a skills development cycle to sustain knowledge and accountability of hourly workforce and managers.
• Ensures safety policies are communicated in meeting format annually.
• Ensures OSHA, MPCA, EPA training is completed annually.
• Leads Safety Steering Team meetings and ensures action items are completed.
• Develops and implements recognition programs to support safety culture.
• Supports hourly facility Safety Teams and aligns activities with safety strategy.
• Ensures 100% compliance on facility level regulatory safety items.
• Promotes hazard recognition and incident reporting across areas of responsibility.
• Demonstrates safety leadership and pursues solutions.
• Communicates policy changes promptly.
• Manages postings for HiPo/Recordable incidents and maintains Safety Balanced Scorecard.
