Job summary

Pyrotek is seeking a Safety & Environmental Engineer to partner with manufacturing and product teams to evaluate processes, equipment, materials, and changes for safety and environmental impacts. You will help ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility on the shop floor.

You will conduct hazard assessments, perform emissions calculations, support environmental permits and reporting, and lead audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of safety and/or environmental regulatory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and develop practical paths to compliance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with manufacturing and product teams to evaluate processes, equipment, raw materials, and products for safety and environmental impacts.
• Lead and sustain safety and environmental programs at the assigned site.
• Maintain site permit and program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct hazard assessments and identify practical solutions to improve processes and compliance.
• Analyze data to identify safety, environmental, and sustainability improvements.
• Perform emissions calculations and support regulatory reporting.
• Lead site, contractor, and supplier safety and environmental audits.
• Develop corrective actions and drive improvement initiatives.
