Job summary

Pyrotek is seeking a Safety & Environmental Engineer to partner with manufacturing and product teams—helping evaluate processes, equipment, materials, and operational changes to ensure we work safely, responsibly, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role, ensuring practical EHS solutions are embedded in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline; equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 4 years of safety and/or environmental regulatory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and engineering skills to evaluate hazards across chemical, physical, environmental, and process domains.
• Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and translating into practical compliance paths.
• Ability to analyze technical data and develop corrective actions and improvement plans.
• Proficient communication with manufacturing staff, leadership, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes, equipment, raw materials, and products for safety and environmental impacts.
• Lead and sustain safety and environmental programs at the assigned operation.
• Maintain site permits and regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct hazard assessments and identify practical solutions to improve processes and compliance.
• Analyze data to identify safety, environmental, and sustainability improvements.
• Perform emissions calculations and support environmental reporting.
