Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Cybersecurity Engineer to join our plant cybersecurity team. You will implement and sustain the cybersecurity program, coordinate remediation, and support incident response to protect production.

This on-site role requires independent judgment and strong execution. You will work with plant operations, IT, suppliers, and global teams to minimize risk without disrupting production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; 5+ years may substitute for degree.
• 1+ years in cybersecurity, automotive or manufacturing ops.
• Knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery.
• Experience patching production equipment and OT firmware.
• Ability to manage projects and priorities independently.

Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain the Manufacturing Cybersecurity Program at the plant.
• Identify, communicate, prioritize, and remediate endpoint security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Support cybersecurity incident response, investigations, recovery activities.
• Conduct cybersecurity readiness assessments for new initiatives, pilots, launches, and post-launch operations.
• Coordinate cybersecurity work plans, site-readiness activities, resources, schedules, dependencies, and open issues.
• Partner with plant operations, IT, cybersecurity, suppliers, and global teams to implement controls.
• Apply patching and firmware-update practices for production-critical OT assets.
• Document cybersecurity assessments, remediation actions, incident follow-up, recovery activities, and SOPs.
• Track open issues through resolution and elevate risks and production impacts.
