Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Plant Cost Accountant for a permanent role in manufacturing. The position reports to the finance team and focuses on cost, inventory, fixed assets, and monthly reporting with emphasis on GAAP compliance and accurate analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Ability to prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plant Cost Accountant for a permanent position in our fast-paced manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be a key player in our finance team, responsible for managing and analyzing costs, inventory, fixed assets, and monthly reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and fixed asset accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of advanced excel and invoicing procedures. Responsibilities

1. 1. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
2. 2. Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
3. 3. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
4. 4. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
5. 5. Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
6. 6. Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
7. 7. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

Qualifications

1. 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. 3. Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
4. 4. Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
5. 5. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
6. 6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
7. 7. Experience with fixed asset and inventory accounting.
8. 8. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
9. 9. High attention to detail and accuracy.
10. 10. Ability to direct and supervise.
11. 11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
12. 12. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
