Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a hands-on Plant Controller to support Bozeman, MT and Freeport, PA operations. You will own manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and business partnering with site leadership to drive performance and profitability.

Reporting to the Finance VP for the Surveillance Division, the role requires strong cost accounting experience in manufacturing, standard costing, and ERP systems (SAP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 8–10+ years of accounting or finance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with standard costing and inventory accounting (E&O).
• Strong collaboration with operations and site leadership.
• SAP or similar ERP system experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including cost center reviews and journal entries.
• Analyze overhead, inventory, and other financial data to support decisions.
• Lead budget preparation and forecast with site leadership for revenue, margin, and costs.
• Prepare standard costing labor and overhead rates; maintain standard costs.
• Prepare analytical reports and deliver financial insights to Site Leads.
• Assign G/L coding and review/approve purchase orders.
• Prepare and maintain weekly forecast updates.
• Monitor and analyze inventory, including E&O reserves and physical counts.
• Assist with fixed asset audits and related documentation.
• Partner with AP, Materials, and Operations to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate responses for corporate/government surveys; collaborate across sites.
