Job summary

Tenneco in Michigan is seeking a seasoned financial accounting professional to join our manufacturing finance team. The role focuses on close processes, cost accounting, and reporting to drive profitability.

You will support budgeting, forecasting, and audits, handle general ledger, intercompany activity, and ensure SOX compliance while partnering with operations to improve performance. Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years in manufacturing accounting; SAP and OneStream preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in financial or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office and macros.
• Experience with SAP and OneStream preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Strategic Planning Process, Annual Operation Plan, Monthly Forecast and reporting.
• Month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations for multiple ledgers.
• Maintain reporting tools tracking KPIs and profitability.
• Assist with Capital Appropriation Requests and ROI analyses.
• Manage accounting activities including billing, A/P, payroll, assets, and standard costing.
• Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure SOX compliance.
• Safeguard company assets including inventory and fixed assets.
• Lead standard costing development and overhead rate setting.
• Support GAAP/SOX compliance and manufacturing operations to meet goals.
• Prepare general ledger, intercompany reconciliations and financial reports.
