HAVERHILL is seeking an Inventory Controller to own the truth of our inventory from purchase orders to the balance sheet. You will manage high-value materials on the factory floor and in Cin7, ensuring accurate quantities, values, and cost of goods.

Responsibilities

• Inventory control: cycle counts, month-end and year-end physical counts, discrepancy root cause and resolution, shrink tracking, and the scrap-to-refiner loop from bench to refiner credit.
• Inventory accounting: Balance sheet inventory valuation, cost of goods accuracy, subledger to general ledger reconciliation, work in process, marketing samples and make-and-hold on the books, and inventory reporting for lenders.
• Purchasing control: Material purchase forecast against the sales plan, purchase order discipline, receiving, and vendor reconciliation for precious metal and component suppliers: invoices matched to POs and receipts, credits and returns captured, defective material charged back, payments accurate.
• ERP System of Record: Cin7 process owner and super user for inventory, production and purchasing transactions; BOM maintenance including sub-assemblies, returns and quarantine flow; workaround register for open items.
• Controls and audit readiness: Count documentation, segregation of duties inside the plant, collateral-grade inventory reporting, and the operating discipline for lender/accountant reliance.
• Cash forecast inputs: Timing, quantity and terms of inventory purchases, delivered to the Head of Finance for the cash forecast.

Location: Warren, Rhode Island, on-site

Reports to: VP Production, with monthly financial review by the Head of Finance

Employment: Full-time, salaried, exempt

The role

Own the truth of our inventory from purchase order to balance sheet. Precious metal, stones, castings, chain, findings and finished goods: correct quantities, correct values, correct cost of goods, correct vendor payments, recorded in the system the day they happen. You are the person the CEO, the VP Production and the Head of Finance turn to when they ask what we have, what it is worth, what we paid for it and what we should buy next.

This is a hands-on seat inside the factory. You will be on the floor, in the vault, in the receiving area and in Cin7 every day, and you will present the numbers at the leadership meeting every week.

What the role owns

• Inventory control. The cycle count program, month-end and year-end physical counts, discrepancy root cause and resolution, shrink tracking, and the scrap-to-refiner loop from bench to refiner credit.
• Inventory accounting. Balance sheet inventory valuation, cost of goods accuracy, subledger to general ledger reconciliation, work in process, marketing samples and make-and-hold on the books, and inventory reporting for lenders.
• Purchasing control. Material purchase forecast against the sales plan, purchase order discipline, receiving, and vendor reconciliation for precious metal and component suppliers: invoices matched to POs and receipts, credits and returns captured, defective material charged back, payments accurate.
• ERP System of Record (currently Cin7). Process owner and super user for inventory, production and purchasing transactions. Backup to the Systems Lead. Bill of materials maintenance including sub-assemblies, returns and quarantine flow, and a workaround register where every open item has an owner and a date.
• Controls and audit readiness. Count documentation, segregation of duties inside the plant, collateral-grade inventory reporting, and the operating discipline that lets an outside lender or accountant rely on our inventory numbers.
• Cash forecast inputs. Timing, quantity and terms of inventory purchases, delivered to the Head of Finance for the cash forecast.

What the role does not own

Company close, tax, banking and forecast model (Head of Finance). Production scheduling and labor (Production Manager). Demand planning and pricing (VP Commerce). People operations (People Ops Manager).

What skills and mindset does the role need

• Someone who has run inventory control or plant accounting in a manufacturer, ideally with precious metal or high-value components, and has turned physical counts into balance sheet numbers under audit.
• Strong in Excel and Power Query or equivalent, comfortable learning a new ERP fast, and used to combining data from systems that do not talk to each other.
• Direct approach & early communication, especially around the challenging topic of inventory discrepancies.
• Comfortable in a factory with a bilingual workforce.
• Desire and ability to build a function rather than inherit one.

Compensation

Base salary for this role is budgeted up to $135k annually, with an additional performance-based bonus of up to 15% of base.

Physical requirements

• Regularly moves throughout the office and production floor over the course of the day
• Sits or stands for extended periods; occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to approximately 25 lbs) for event setup, filing, and supplies
• Manual dexterity for computer use and paperwork; visual acuity for reviewing records and documents
• Communicates clearly in person, by phone, and in writing, in both English and Spanish
