Job summary

CXO Source seeks a Controller to lead the finance organization, reporting to the CFO and partnering with the CEO. You will own the monthly close, internal controls, and accounting team leadership, while delivering timely reporting for lenders and the PE sponsor.

You will collaborate with Operations, Commercial, and HR to translate financial data into insights that drive growth and value creation, with significant career growth opportunities in a PE-backed platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive financial management experience in manufacturing.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing accounting, cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards and regulations.
• Proven leadership experience, with ability to manage and develop an accounting team.

The Company is a specialty contract manufacturing business. The Opportunity

The Controller is a pivotal role in the Company’s finance organization. Reporting to the CFO and partnering directly with the CEO, you will own the fundamentals - reporting integrity, the monthly close, internal controls, and the accounting team - while gaining direct insight into the strategic decisions shaping the business.

This is not a back-office role. You will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Commercial, and Human Resources to turn financial data into insights that drive how the Company grows, and you will play a central role in delivering the accurate, timely reporting that lenders and the private equity sponsor rely on. Key Responsibilities

Monthly Close & Financial Reporting

• Own the monthly close process end-to-end, directing the accounting team to deliver accurate, timely results against a defined close calendar
• Ensure account reconciliations are complete and that financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows) are GAAP-compliant
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting package for leadership, lenders, and the private equity sponsor, including variance commentary
• Drive continuous improvement in close and reporting processes, reducing cycle time and increasing accuracy

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnering

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with leaders across Operations, Commercial, and Human Resources to align budgets with strategic objectives
• Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing clear insights and recommendations to the CFO and CEO
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and value-creation initiatives
• Maintain the integrity of standard costs and routings within the ERP system to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation
• Identify cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities across manufacturing operations in partnership with Operations and FP&A
• Ensure inventory accounting, cycle count reconciliation, and period-end valuation are accurate and well-controlled

Internal Controls, Audit & Compliance

• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Ensure compliance with lender covenants and reporting requirements, including timely covenant calculations and compliance certificates
• Coordinate external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely resolution of findings
• Support due diligence, investor reporting, and board materials as requested by the CFO
• Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and a high-performing, collaborative department
• Build scalable processes, policies, and documentation that support the company’s growth

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive financial management experience in manufacturing environments.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, including cost accounting and inventory management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and applicable financial regulations
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop an accounting team
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP and financial software
• Strong communicator — confident engaging directly with senior executives and cross-functional partners
• Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities

Preferred

• CPA or MBA; additional relevant certifications are a plus
• Experience with mid-market manufacturing ERP systems
• Familiarity with private equity reporting, lender covenant compliance, and sponsor requirements
• Experience in a contract manufacturing or co-packing environment.
