Job summary

Helion, based in Everett, WA, is building the world's first fusion power plant. We seek a seasoned leader to grow the Plant Control Software team, delivering the embedded, supervisory, networking, and data layers that run the plant.

You will partner with electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, and operations, establishing engineering discipline, scalable processes, and a shared schedule with hardware. This role requires 10+ years in control systems and a track record of shipping software

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building complex control systems for hardware.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role building and managing a multidisciplinary software team.
• Depth in real-time, embedded, or control software for physical systems.
• Experience shipping software that coordinates with hardware on a shared schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Plant Control Software team across firmware, application software, networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Own delivery of the plant control software stack across embedded, supervisory, networking, and data layers.
• Partner with electrical, mechanical, fuel cycle, systems engineering, operations, and science; coordinate across hardware/software boundaries.
